the drama of our time is the coming of all men into one fate

sit down, give me your hand. I'm going to tell you the future...

I have recently gone through a phase of constantly needing my nails to be some ridiculous dark colour.
It all began the afternoon, I wrapped my little nails with the beautiful deep, almost black but not quite "Linkin Park After Dark" by O.P.I. Ever since I borrowed it off a friend, I decided to scour the stores for a cheaper but as dark alternative. Nothing quite hit the mark, it was either much too light or too thick, which I sometimes find the Revlon and Loreal polishes to be.
But today, almost by accident, I happened across a table of Sally Hansen polishes and what should I find but 'Pat on the Black'. A name which not only includes part of my name, but after three smooth easy coats, delivers a punchy burst of shiny colour in the desired shade. Goodness, I'm getting quite taken by this nailpolish business.

Should you want to do some nail art of your own, check out Lacquer Boudoir , a delightful little blog, which outlines polishes and steps to create amazing works of portable, temporary art. The nails are the new canvas!

This whole week at college has been Love Week, an entire week dedicated to wooing, dining and flirtatiously coercing your set partner into a marriage which culminates at the end. I was lucky enough to paired with a very easygoing fresher named Jared, a bit of a ladies man but generally funny guy. Monday was spent, catcalling and claiming each other for our own. The efforts were stepped up on Tuesday, with inappropriate and tacky photoshopping, and a romantic dinner for two with the rest of the "couples". Finally on Wednesday, he proposed. My friend and I had gone to beach, to return to find our 'boyfriends', in suit jackets and boardies. They took us out onto the balcony, where they had set up a beautiful candlelit dinner, complete with champagne, chocolates and plastic rings floating in our glasses. Needless to say we were ever so impressed. Even despite the fact that they had already eaten their dinner first, because they had gotten hungry waiting.

And then tomorrow night, the couple with the best proposal will get married! I think my friend Kenny will probably win. He got a group of boys in jackets and guitars to strum along to "I Wanna Grow Old With You" from The Wedding Singer on a balcony, down to his girl, who was standing in a love heart chalked on the road, while he threw rose petals down to her as the sun was setting. It was so gorgeous.

Here are a bunch of outfits taken over the past week. I don't really know to do better outfit shots, the mirror/ selfies are the best I can do at the moment!

What I wore today: Standard combination - boyfriend blazer, oversized t-shirt and Minkpink shorts.
One of the dresses I bought today. It was only $5! And there is a pretty little cutout at the back.
What I wore yesterday - I also had coffee with D yesterday, he met some of my friends. It was all very exciting.
What I wore on the second date - I was also wearing knee high socks and lace up shoes. He also gave me his jumper at the end of the night, when he dropped me off in the Rocks. So I basically looked like an overgrown school child on the way home.
What I wore to go op-shopping on Saturday - The second shot shows the back of the top. But the first shot and the third basically show what a difference some simple accessories can make. See, my retarded pose is the same, but the necklace and belt make it a little less retarded...
What I actually wore to my fake date on Tuesday.
What I was going to wear to my fake date on Tuesday - as you can see, I was going for a kind of French theme.

Finally, my newest, scariest addiction...eBay!! It's terrible! I'm forever checking auction times, new clothes, etc etc. I can't see the money moving anywhere so I feel no guilt about spending on there. I disregard postage so it feels like I'm grabbing a bargain. And I love outbidding people, it's like a weird satisfying feeling.

I'm addicted!
